I hold a DPhil (PhD) in International Relations from St Antony’s College, University of Oxford. My doctoral research—funded by the University of Oxford’s Department of Politics and International Relations and previously by the Governor Phillip Scholarship Trust —examined the intellectual history of Anglo-American fascist international thought from the interwar period through to the mid-twentieth century. My broader expertise spans contemporary far-right politics and extremism, AI safety and frontier-model risk, conspiratorial thinking, and the relationship between gaming and extremism.
In my current role with Pattrn.ai, I identify and evaluate extremist-related threat vectors in yet-to-be-released generative AI models, support red-teaming activities for a Fortune 500 technology company, and produce reports on emerging technologies for corporate and government clients.
My research has been published by leading peer-reviewed journals—including Global Studies Quarterly, Review of International Studies, Millennium, and New Perspectives—and I am a regular contributor to the Global Network on Extremism and Technology. I have also written for outlets such as Binding Hook, E-International Relations, and the Oxford Political Review. Meanwhile, my scholarship has been cited in outlets ranging from International Security, Global Studies Quarterly, and International Relations, through to The Nation, Wired, The Dispatch, Maldita.es, and the Institute for Strategic Dialogue.
Beyond my research, I have substantial experience in teaching and course delivery in twentieth-century international politics, International Relations theory, peace and conflict studies, strategic studies, and terrorism and insurgency at the University of Oxford, the University of Queensland, Oxford Brookes University, and the Australian War College. I was also previously involved with delivering the Massive Open Online Course ‘Global Media, War, and Technology’.
I am a Postgraduate Member of the Royal Historical Society and the Rothermere American Institute , and a member of the Extremism and Gaming Research Network at King’s College London and the Reactionary Politics Research Network at the University of Bath. I was formerly Senior Commissioning Editor at E-International Relations. Prior to my doctorate, I completed an MPhil in International Relations (Distinction) at the University of Oxford and a BA (First Class Honours) at the University of Queensland, for which I was awarded the University Medal.
